Eid al Fitr is one of my favorite times of the year, not just because it marks the end of Ramadan, but also because it means I will be slightly showered with Eidiya/Gifts. It was definitely more fun when I was a child: We would wake up early in the morning, get ready in our new clothes and eagerly wait for dads, uncles and brothers to return home from the morning prayer so they could give us our Eidiya (money given during Eid) or Gifts. Some relatives always got fancy with envelopes and the sum of money they chose to give, and some would hand out a standard amount of bill to each and every one they saw. But the amount never mattered because you saw plenty of relatives and all they gave added up to a good lump sum….
We hope everyone is having a fantastic Eid! To celebrate, here’s a trailer for a very special book which will be making its way to our stores this week, which will delight the thousands of fans out there who have been waiting for this book for years!
