We are excited to announce the launch of our latest community project:  Pay it Forward,  in collaboration with Fetchr, that encourages and facilitates people to donate to Dubai Foundation for Women and Children. In sync with the holy  month of Ramadan, the project aims to make it easy for you to donate, helps you get a little more involved in the community and give back to those in need this charitable month. The initiative is based on the principle of ‘paying a good deed forward’ and to inspire people to help make a difference or a positive change in someone else’s life. We live in a great city that’s full of opportunity and tons of exciting events, concerts, fitness-related activities and much more. And it doesn’t get better than combining two of these at the same time. That’s exactly what the Red Bull Wings for Life World Run aims to do: tackling fitness and charity in one go! The Wings for Life World Run returns to the UAE bigger than ever. On May 8th, at 3pm local time, runners of all abilities, fun runners, and fanatics, young and old, will come together in Dubai’s Autodrome and join tens of thousands of runners from over 30 countries to start the race at the exact same time. Magic Phil’s Charity Tour

As part of our mission of doing business for good – we like to help out where we can and take part in and support worthy initiatives where possible. Last week, Magic Phil the magician from our regular Story Time events took time from his busy performance schedule in order to visit and perform at the Princess Haya Centre, Amman, Jordan for children whose lives have been affected by the ongoing conflicts in Syria and Palestine. The children came to the centre to enjoy a day of entertainment and games, as well as the show by the UAE best loved magician one and only Magic Phil! The show ran great! Pierre through the mountains

As part of Virgin Megastore’s ongoing efforts to give voice to positive and charitable initiatives, we would like to introduce you to Pierre Fourie and his journey towards positive internal and external change. Pierre, a South African currently based in Bahrain, is preparing to run a 70KM Ultra Mountain Marathon in Vietnam on September 20th. The funds raised from his efforts will be donated to the Daphne Lee Centre in Klerksdrop, South Africa, which he holds very dear to his heart.  The Daphne Lee Centre is a non-profit organisation in South Africa whose mission is to provide a safe and caring environment for adults with disabilities. Pierre started training in January and from then until his marathon in September, he would have ran over 2500 KM as part of the preparation.
