Waqt al Hikaya

We’re so proud to announce our very first Arabic Storytime, Waqt al Hikaya, taking place this Saturday, March 19th at Virgin Megastore Sahara Centre. In partnership with the Arab Reading Challenge and Kalimat Publishing, the event aims to emphasize the importance of reading but will particularly highlight the Arab culture, language and literature. The event will include two Arabic book readings by TV Presenter Safia AlShehi and MBC 3 Kids TV Presenter Maha al Hamed. There will also be a puppet show and arts and crafts activities sponsored by the Sharjah Ladies Club and UAEBby, an organization that seeks to promote international understanding through children’s books. And of course tons of yummy treats as well from Oushe and juice from Barakat. As this event coincides with the upcoming Mother’s Day, we’ve also partnered up Dumye and the first 20 children…

When Retro meets Modern

I’m not a big gamer anymore. Let’s just say times have changed.  Growing up with an older brother, however, gaming was always the go-to activity on a hot summer day, when we were alot younger.  I remember the first console we ever owned was an Atari and it was the ultimate craze. For those of you young’ns that might not know what an Atari is, it was equivalent to what a PS or Xbox in this day in age. But let’s not compare the two consoles at all. Like I said, times have changed and gaming has come a long, long way. Games such as Asteroids, Pong and Laser Blast were the talk of town and this is what they used to look like. Street Fighter V Tournament

The legendary fighting franchise returns with Street Fighter V on Tuesday, February 16th, 2016! The game will be available in Virgin Megastores in the UAE, Qatar and Bahrain starting tomorrow. To celebrate the launch, we will be holding an exciting Street Fighter Tournament this upcoming weekend.
